Louis Oosthuizen will take a three shot lead in to the final round of the ISPS HANDA Perth International, looking for his first win in more than two years. However, he also has the chance to break one of the most impressive records on The European Tour.
Oosthuizen has hit 17 Greens in Regulation in all three rounds so far, a total of 51 of 54 greens. That is five more than anyone else in the field this week (Andrew Johnston 46).
The European Tour record for Greens in Regulation at one event is 68, done by three players, most recently Henrik Stenson at the 2013 DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
Whilst his focus will undoubtedly be on winning the tournament tomorrow, Oosthuizen may want to get his stats at the end of the round to see if can join this elite group of European Tour ball strikers. Another round of 17 Greens in Regulation would see Oosthuizen tie the record. A perfect round of 18 greens would see him set a new European Tour high of 69 Greens in Regulation at one event.
The 2010 Open Champion gave a hint earlier in the week that this type of week might have been on the cards.
He's been careful so far, can he make history tomorrow?
