Louis Oosthuizen moved into a share of the lead at the ISPS HANDA Perth International on a day of low scoring at Lake Karrinyup Country Club.
The World Number 21 came into the third round a single shot off the lead after a brilliant 64 on Friday and some of the early starters showed that another low score was gettable on Saturday morning.
Grégory Bourdy and Matthew Griffin both posted rounds of 65 and last week's winner Marcus Fraser was seven under for the day through 16 holes.
But that was only enough to get the Maybank Championship Malaysia winner to within three shots of Oosthuizen, who birdied the first and third to move to 12 under alongside Peter Uihlein.
Brett Rumford was then at ten under, with Fraser, Rhein Gibson, Richard T Lee and Romain Wattel a further shot back.
Oosthuizen played a smart approach to birdie the first and after narrowly avoiding the water with his second shot on the third, he came close to chipping in and tapped in for another gain.
American Uihlein also birdied the first thanks to an excellent curling putt but playing partner Rumford found the trees off the tee and surrendered an early bogey.
Perth native Rumford and Uihlein then both three-putted the second for bogey but regained shots by taking advantage of the par five third.
Fraser had three birdies on the front nine and four on the back as he roared into contention, with Wattel and Lee both recording a run of four birdies from the second.
Gibson was level par for the day after a birdie and a bogey.
Bourdy registered nine birdies and two bogeys in his 65, while Griffin had an eagle, six birdies and missed the chance to get to double figures on the 17th before bogeying the last.
Despite that disappointment on the 18th, his 65 was good enough to hand him a share of the clubhouse lead alongside 56 year old Peter Senior at eight under.
