European Tour Officials have taken the decision to move the tees forward at a number of holes on The Smurfit Course for the first round of the Smurfit Kappa European Open, after prolonged and heavy showers flooded some of the landing areas.
The most significant change is at the 18th, which has been reduced from a 578 yard par five to a par three of 162 yards due to the lay-up area being saturated with water. Therefore, the par for the Smurfit Course is now 70.
The other changes are as follows:
Hole 1: Shortened by 33 yards, so now playing to 416 yards
Hole 3: Shortened by 37 yards, so now playing to 566 yards.
Hole 5: Shortened by 47 yards, so now playing to 392 yards.
Hole 7: Shortened by 60 yards, so now playing to 540 yards.
Hole 10: Shortened by 36 yards, so now playing to 515 yards.
Hole 16: Shortened by 24 yards, so now playing to 433 yards.
The total yardage for the course is now 6,660.
