The new European Tour Fantasy Race is almost here and you can now pick you team ahead of the start of the game next week to have a chance to win a golfing holiday to Dubai.
With its new format and fantastic prizes, the European Tour Fantasy Race promises plenty of excitement every week as your team of 15 look to accumulate as many points as possible.
The Abu Dhabi Golf Championship from January 20-21 is the first counting event for the new game and from that week on there are weekly, monthly and ultimately end of season prizes to be won.
Prizes will include European Tour merchandise, clubs and balls from Titleist and for the overall winner, the ultimate prize of a golfing holiday to Dubai including two business class flights from any Emirates destination and a five night stay at the Atlantis, the Palm, the official hotel of the Dubai World Championship, and golf at Jumeirah Golf Estate.
The aim is still to accumulate as much prize money as possible throughout the season for your team of 15 players but with a few new rules.
Entrants to the 2011 European Tour Fantasy Race will need to select a team of 15 players but in 2011 you will be only be permitted to make up to five changes to your team between events.
And a big difference is that any money won by “Sold” players while they were in your chosen 15 will still count to your team’s total earnings.
Lastly, Team changes can only be made on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
This will put emphasis on selecting form players for each week, trying to choose players who are likely to favour particular courses or events, without fear of their earnings dropping out of your team’s tally if you substitute them later in the season.
