Players gear up for Second Stage 

The Second Stage of the European Tour Qualifying School begins this week with 247* players teeing it up across four Spanish venues.

Players will tackle the courses at Alenda Golf, Club de Golf Bonmont, Desert Springs Golf Club and Las Colinas Golf & Country Club from November 7-10, all vying for a place at Final Stage Qualifying, which will be held a week later at Lumine Golf Club from November 15-20.

A record 842 players participated in First Stage Qualifying and the successful 183 who progressed to Second Stage will be joined by European Tour and European Challenge Tour members who are looking to claim a European Tour card for the 2020 Race to Dubai campaign.

Two-time Staysure Tour winner Magnus P Atlevi is one of the 183 players who progressed from First Stage and will be the oldest competitor at Second Stage. The 54-year-old Swede was one of 20 players to advance from First Stage Europe Section A at The Players Club along with amateur Sam Broadhurst – son of two-time Staysure Tour Number One Paul. The duo will be joined by 81 players at Second Qualifying Stage Alenda Golf, including six-time winner on the Sunshine Tour Jake Roos.

Former Challenge Tour Number One Ricardo Gouveia and five-time European Tour winner Michael Hoey will look to advance from Second Qualifying Stage Las Colinas, when 83 players tee it up in Alicante.

Sam Locke, the Silver Medal winner at The 2018 Open Championship, won First Stage Europe Section E Golf d'Hardelot and joins Manuel Ballesteros, the nephew of the great Seve Ballesteros, as well as 78 other players at Club de Golf Bonmont, which is making its debut as a Second Stage venue this week.

Desert Springs Golf Club will see 81 players take to the Almería course, including three-time European Tour winner Kenneth Ferrie who shared the third round lead at the 2006 U.S. Open Championship alongside Phil Mickelson.
