The Porsche Singapore Classic will be decided over 54 holes after no play was possible on Thursday due to persistent inclement weather.
The first round got under way on Friday following a 24-hour delay because of course conditions at Laguna National Golf Resort Club.
The second round will take place on Saturday, while the trophy will be handed out after Sunday's third and final round.
The cut will remain at the top 65 players and ties and will be made at the conclusion of the second round.
David Garland, Director of Tour Operations for the DP World Tour, said: "Going back to Wednesday, we had 100mm of rain, four inches, and then on Thursday we knew it was going to be possibly similar and yet by the end of the day we had 235mm in the day. That's nine inches of rain.
"It was clear that we weren't able to play for the rest of the day. But amazingly the golf course drained so so well.
"We were able to cut the greens yesterday, double cut them, and the green staff worked all night - an unbelievable effort to get us playable this morning on time."
Speaking about the decision to reduce the tournament to 54 holes, he added: "With the size of the field and playing very early in the morning until almost sunset, we don't have time to play 36 holes on the Sunday, if we get a clear day today and tomorrow and make the cut at 65 and ties.
"So in consultation with Porsche and other stakeholders, we took that decision earlier today to reduce to 54 holes."
