We take a look in the bag of Porsche Singapore Classic winner Richard Mansell.
If at first you don't succeed, try try again.
Richard Mansell is a winner on his 103rd DP World Tour appearance, nearly five years on from his debut, a feat that takes patience, perseverance and grit.
It also requires more than a little experimentation and an openness to change, something the Englishman has shown he possesses with his equipment in recent months.
While many players stick with similar set-ups or tend to make wholesale changes in the off-season, Mansell is not afraid to tinker and nowhere is that more clear than with his putter.
He had a new one at Laguna National in the shape of a Scotty Cameron Tour Only T-7 2024 and that was his fourth short stick of the year after using an Odyssey Ai-One Square 2 Square Jailbird, an Odyssey 2-Ball Ten Triple Track and a L.A.B Golf DF3.
And he was even happy to make an equipment change mid-event, swapping out his TaylorMade Qi35 seven wood for a Srixon ZX MKII 20 degree utility iron after round one.
He has in fact changed somethhing in his bag in his last three DP World Tour starts: taking out his Titleist 620 MB pitching wedge in favour of a Vokey SM10 pitching wedge at the Investec South African Open Championship and changing his four and five iron from Titleist 620 CBs to Titleist T100s at the Joburg Open.
The TaylorMade Qi35 three wood has been in his bag since the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship when he replaced his Paradym Ai Smoke Max, while his Titleist TSi3 driver and Titleist 620 MB six to nine irons have been around since last season's Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters.
Mansell is clearly a man willing to make changes to get what he wants and in the opening event of the Asian Swing he found the winning formula.
