Round 4 Summary

Paul Lawrie won the weather-shortened event with two superb rounds on the Bonmont course.  He moved ahead on the first day with nine birdies in a 65, including one of 40 feet on the 13th, to be one ahead.  Very strong winds cancelled play on Friday, and Lawrie began his second round on Saturday on the tenth with a birdie putt from six feet.  He took six at the long 14th, but birdied the 17th to be out in 35.  Further birdies at the first - his tenth - the third and the seventh put him in a strong position as the decision was taken to reduce the event to 36 holes.  Lawrie did take a double bogey five at the eighth - his 17th - but his total proved good enough despite Fernando Roca packing seven birdies into a 70.
