A course record last round of 64 earned Bernhard Langer victory by one stroke from overnight leader Jose Maria Olazabal. Langer was three behind starting the last round but scored nine birdies, four of them in the last five holes, to edge the Spaniard into second place. "I'm not disappointed because I didn't give the tournament away," said Olazabal after finishing with a 68. "Bernhard's 64 was a great round, an unbelievable round, a superb round, and all credit to him."
