The 2022 Road to Mallorca heads to Limpopo for this week’s SDC Open. Here’s three men to keep your eye on this week…

Daniel Hillier has made a fantastic start to the 2022 Road to Mallorca and currently sits in fifth position on the Road to Mallorca Rankings. The 23-year-old kick-started his campaign with a third place finish at the Dimension Data Pro-Am, before a tie for eighth at the Bain’s Whisky Cape Town Open and a 12th place finish at the recent Mangaung Open. Hillier will be looking to secure promotion to the DP World Tour in 2022 after narrowly missing out last year, despite picking up a maiden European Challenge Tour title at the Challenge Costa Brava.
Local boy
Keenan Davidse has been enjoying his golf on home soil, playing 17 out of his last 20 rounds under par. The South African finished in a tie for fourth at the Jonsson Workwear Open and a tie for sixth at the Mangaung Open to catapult him into eighth position on the Road to Mallorca Rankings. The 32-year-old arrives at the SDC Open in strong form having recorded a 15th place finish at the recent MyGolfLife Open hosted by Pecanwood, which was co-sanctioned between the DP World Tour and Sunshine Tour.
The outsider
Dominic Foos became the youngest winner in Challenge Tour history when he recorded a three-shot wire-to-wire victory in the 2015 GANT Open at the age of 17, and the German has shown glimpses of unearthing the potential of his younger playing days in recent times. The 24-year-old finished in a tie for eighth at the Challenge Costa Brava, his final event of 2021, and took that form into 2022, kicking off his time in South Africa with a round of 65 at the Jonsson Workwear Open in Durban.
Foos had a glittering amateur career representing Europe in the Junior Ryder Cup, Jacques Leglise Trophy and Sir Michael Bonallack Trophy, whilst also impressing on the DP World Tour, recording a top 40 finish at the 2012 Nelson Mandela Championship and a 16th place finish at the 2014 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. Foos will be looking to find a greater level of consistency in 2022 in order to fulfill his potential and earn DP World Tour playing rights.
