Soudal Open: DP World Tour Fantasy Ones to Watch

The European Swing resumes this week at the Soudal Open and here is all that players of the DP World Tour's official fantasy game need to know.

After a one-week break in the fourth and penultimate Global Swing of the 2026 Race to Dubai season for the US PGA Championship, the action picks up in Belgium at Rinkven International Golf Club.

First played in 1910, this week marks the 20th time it has been part of the DP World Tour schedule and has been won by the likes of Major champions Sir Nick Faldo, José María Olazábal and Darren Clarke.

Thomas Detry is the headine act this week as he, almost unbelievably, searches for his first DP World Tour win after five runner-up finishes.

His countryman Nicolas Colsaerts, a former Ryder Cup star, will this week play his 505th and final DP World Tour event.

Yurav Premlall, who made headlines around the world with his dominant win in Spain earlier this month, will be looking to extend his lead at the top of the Swing Rankings and he is joined by fellow 2026 DP World Tour winners Mikael Lindberg, Jordan Gumberg, Casey Jarvis, Freddy Schott, Nacho Elvira and Jayden Schaper.

Described as an exposed, flat, parkland course with poa annua tees, fairways and greens, the layout in use this week - as with previous years - is a composite of the North and South at Rinkven.

Who are the most backed players?

Detry is the most popular player among Fantasy users, selected in 57% of teams and with more than 4900 picks - over 2000 more than second-placed Mikael Lindberg.

Swede Lindberg is on 33%, seven percentage points clear of third-placed Eugenio Chacarra, with this season's two-time winner Casey Jarvis and last year's Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Martin Couvra rounding out the top five.

Who are our ones to watch?

Here, we pick out three players in action this week who are worth considering for your Fantasy team selections.

Favourite: Thomas Detry

No real surprise here, with the home favourite the top-ranked player in the field. Without a win on the DP World Tour, where better for the 33-year-old to end his long wait for a breakthrough victory than on home soil. Across his four appearances at Belgium's national open - including two appearances in its previous combined strokeplay and matchplay format - he as two top tens with a single missed cut. Since his most recent appearance at Rinkven in 2023, he has made history as the first Belgian winner on the PGA TOUR at the WM Phoenix Open in 2025. While he missed the cut at last week's US PGA Championship, he was in good form as he posted a ten-under-par total over 36-hole U.S. Open Final Qualifying at Walton Heath on Monday, only missing out on securing a spot for the third men's Major Championship in a four-way play-off.

Form Horse: J.C. Ritchie

After back-to-back top tens in Türkiye and Spain, the South African arrives in Belgium full of confidence. With those performances coming hot on the heels of back-to-back top-15 finishes on the Sunshine Tour at the Courier Guy Playoffs, the 32-year-old's game appears to be close to challenging for silverware again. It was last year that he won three titles on the HotelPlanner Tour to earn automatic promotion to the DP World Tour. Having racked up his century of appearances on the DP World Tour at the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship, experience at this level is something he can fall back on as he bids to emulate countrymen Jayden Schaper and Casey Jarvis by becoming a first-time winner this season.

Wild Card: Sam Bairstow

While he is without a top ten since the season-opening BMW Australian PGA Championship in November, the Englishman has shown good form at Rinkven on his two previous visits. In his rookie season on the DP World Tour in 2024, he finished tied tenth as he made his way to the season-ending DP World Tour Championship. Last year, he closed out his week with a Sunday 66 to finish in a tie for 16th. History shows that the course puts a premium on approach play, with the 27-year-old above the average among DP World Tour members for that strokes gained category on a round-by-round basis so far this season. With three of the last four winners having claimed their first DP World Tour title here, could this week be the time for Bairstow?
