The Staysure PGA Trophy will return for a second-successive season after its debut in 2018 and will once again see the Grand Final take place in the week of the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship.
The senior Pro-Am competition set up alongside the PGA and multi-award winning over-50s travel insurance company Staysure, who are the title sponsor of the over-50s circuit, the Staysure Tour, will see PGA professionals team up with a male or female partner over the age of 50.
The national club contest consists of seven regional qualifiers ahead of the Staysure PGA Trophy Grand Final, which will take place at London Golf Club on July 30-31 ahead of the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship.
Representing Old Fold Manor Golf Club, professional Glen Portelli and his 14-handicap amateur Vic Kenny reigned victorious in the inaugural Grand Final.
“I’ll be on a high for several days after this,” Kenny said following the pair’s triumph. “I think there’s going to be a rush of entries for it next year. I’ll definitely be trying to qualify for it again.”
“It’s been amazing. What more can we ask for than to play on two golf courses like these with a superb practice facility with some really friendly guys,” said Portelli.
