Stephen Gallacher wrote the latest chapter in his love story with The Gleneagles Hotel as he carded the lowest round of the week on the final day of the ISPS HANDA Senior Open.
The Scot made his DP World Tour debut on the King's Course as an amateur at the Scottish Open in 1993 and 11 years later he was part of the Europe team that won the Ryder Cup on the PGA Centenary Course.
With firm, fast conditions and plenty of wind to contend with, Gallacher carded rounds of 72-69-71 over the first three days but early rain made it more scoreable on Sunday.
Starting the day ten shots off the lead, Gallacher cruised to the turn in 29 and then birdied the tenth and 11th to invite the prospect of one of the game's great comebacks.
A bogey on the next and failure to take advantage of the driveable 14th ended those hopes and Gallacher admitted he was almost disappointed despite an eight under par effort.
"Not often you come off the course disappointed you're shooting 62," he said. "Just one of the days where I played really well and gave myself plenty of chances. Holed a few putts and missed a few to be honest. Delighted to do it.
"You know, we'd been battered for three days. You need a respite when you stand in the practice area and there's three million an hour wind.
"And there's been a little bit of rain, so it's taken sort of the edge off the course. So you knew you could post a score but all you're trying to do is go as low as you can.

"I got off to a great start and kept going. Hit a lovely shot at 11, had a three-footer and a four iron.
"Could have birdied 14 and maybe eagled the last, maybe two shots. I'm not bothered by that.
"I have such an affinity with Gleneagles, starting my pro career as an amateur, the Ryder Cup, shot 11-under around the other course. It's just a great place."
