Caleb Surratt is set to tee it up at the Rosa Challenge Tour in Konopiska for his debut on the HotelPlanner Tour, as he sets his sights on a positive week in Poland.
The 22-year-old has had an exciting season to date, making his U.S Open debut in June as well as featuring at the 154th Open at Royal Birkdale in July, marking a landmark year in his career. The American has also made three starts on the DP World Tour, without missing a cut, and earned a top ten finish at the Crown Australian Open last December. More recently he finished in a tie for 13th at the Danish Golf Championship.
“I’m excited,” he said. “It’s my first time here in Poland and it’s a pretty sweet golf course so I’m very excited, and very fortunate to be given a spot and an opportunity to compete this week.
“I’ve just been trying to play good golf recently, and I’m hoping to compete any chance I can get out here right now, especially leading into next year.
“I was fortunate to play well in Denmark a few weeks ago and was fortunate to get a spot in that as well. I wish I could have capitalised better but hopefully there will be a lot more chances this year with some good golf.”
After a successful season to date, Surratt is not resting on his laurels and is hoping to remain consistent in his bid to continue his improvements and is putting in the hard work to do so.
“My game has been solid,” he added. “I made my major debuts in two majors earlier this year and that put the fire inside of me, seeing what’s out there and what I might be capable of with my good golf. That’s what I’m working to get to.
“I’m really focused on what I can do to help me play good golf. I have a goal in mind towards the end of this year, and what I’m trying to accomplish, and I’ve just got to take it one day at a time and keep doing the right things until then.”
Surratt, despite the fact he is yet to make his HotelPlanner Tour debut, sits in 167th spot on the 2026 Road to Mallorca Rankings due to his DP World Tour performances this year. A positive result this week could improve his standings and offer Surratt a chance to put himself into contention to earn one of the 15 available DP World Tour cards come the end of the year, something that the American is trying to pursue.
“Right now, I’m trying to pursue a DP World Tour card. I’ve given myself chances to do that and I’m hoping for some more opportunities this year, but I’m trying to play my best golf and see where that leads me.
“I’m close on the affiliate list to getting some points there and having some sort of category, and I hope to give myself some chances out here at the end of this year if I can earn some more spots and see where that takes me into next year and evaluate from there.”
Surratt joins a strong field in Poland, including European Ryder Cup star Chris Wood and four-time DP World Tour winner David Horsey. The first round of the Rosa Challenge Tour gets under way at 7am local time on Thursday, with Surratt teeing off alongside two winners on this year’s Road to Mallorca in South African Justin Harding and Scotland’s Rory Franssen, at 1:09pm.
