Tartan Pro Tour talent vying for Challenge Tour title in Aberdeen

The Farmfoods Scottish Challenge supported by the R&A takes place this week with several in-form players from the Tartan Pro Tour – one of the Challenge Tour’s feeder tours – set to tee it up.

Headlining the Tartan Pro Tour contingent are Graeme Robertson and Sam Locke who currently lead the Order of Merit and sit in pole position to receive full Challenge Tour cards for the 2025 Road to Mallorca.

Leader Robertson has been in dominant form this season, securing the title at last month's Ladybank Masters presented by Piper Sandler alongside a pair of second place finishes. Meanwhile Locke, who sits second, kicked off his season in style with back-to-back triumphs at the Portlethen Classic presented by Entier and Montrose Links Masters presented by Gym Rental Company.

They have been joined in the Tartan Pro Tour winner’s circle this year by Englishman Nick McCarthy, who won the Nairn Dunbar Classic presented by Glen Moray and will be returning to a familiar stage having played 45 Challenge Tour events since 2011.

Bradley Neil and Calum Fyfe will tee it up at a happy hunting ground this week after finishing in first and second place respectively in the Newmachar Classic presented by Boskalis earlier this season. Neil’s dominant seven-stroke victory was sealed with a sensational final round 61 that broke the Hawkshill course record previously set by Fyfe in 2017.

Joining them in Aberdeen are the third and fourth placed players on the Order of Merit in John Paterson and John Henry, who will be teeing it up alongside brother Scott, a former DP World Tour player.

Rounding out the top-ranked Tartan Pro Tour players in the field this week is Darren Howie, who joins brother Craig in the field after sealing a maiden title at last month’s Schloss Roxburghe Masters, an achievement made even more special with Craig on the bag.
