Final Qualifying for The 153rd Open will take place on Tuesday, July 1. Here is everything you need to know as players have the opportunity to earn their place at Royal Portrush.
Where is Final Qualifying taking place?
For the second year in a row, Final Qualifying is being held across Burnham & Berrow, Royal Cinque Ports and West Lancashire in England and Dundonald Links in Scotland.
How does Final Qualifying work?
For players not already exempt, Final Qualifying provides one of the last remaining avenues to secure a spot at the final Major Championship of 2025.
Across the four links venues, 288 players will be teeing it up, with 72 players competing over 36 holes at each site.
Five places will be available for The 153rd Open at each course.
Any ties for the last qualifying place in each event will be decided by a sudden-death play-off. Some Reserve spots will also be decided at these events.
A number of amateur and professional players are exempt directly into Final Qualifying based on their past playing achievements, while the rest of the fields will be made up of players who have come through Regional Qualifying.
When did Regional Qualifying take place?
Regional Qualifying took place over 18 holes at 15 venues across Great Britain and Ireland on June 23.
A total of 131 qualifying spots were allocated to the competition with each site receiving between seven and ten of these depending on its field size.
In total, almost 2,000 players entered Regional Qualifying.
Almost 2,000 teed it up. 131 players made it.
