Home favourite Rory McIlroy will begin his bid for a second Major victory of the 2025 season alongside Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Thomas at The 153rd Open.
McIlroy, who won the Masters in April to complete the career Grand Slam, is among the stand-out contenders for the title on his homecoming at Royal Portrush as he bids to claim a second Claret Jug.
Alongside European Ryder Cup team-mate Fleetwood and two-time US PGA Championship winner Thomas, McIlroy will begin his first round at 3:10pm local time.
Shortly before them in another afternoon featured group on day one, Robert MacIntyre is grouped with Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Rose, who finished tied second at Royal Troon last year, at 2:48pm.
Shane Lowry, who won the Open by six shots the last time it visited Portrush in 2019, is joined by World Number One Scottie Scheffler and two-time Major winner Collin Morikawa at 10:09am.
The other marquee grouping sees defending champion Xander Schauffele joined by U.S. Open winner JJ Spaun and Spain’s Jon Rahm at 09:58am.
As announced on Monday, two-time Open winner Pádraig Harrington will hit the opening tee shot at the final men’s Major Championship of the season, with the Irishman joined by Nicolai Højgaard and Tom McKibbin at 06:35am.
