Two-time DP World Tour winner Robert Rock was among the 124 players who moved a step closer to The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale as he progressed from Regional Qualifying.
The Englishman, who retired from full-time competitive play in 2022 to focus on coaching and family life, emerged from a play-off at Enville on Monday to reach Final Qualifying for the second time in three years.
Rock has made eight appearances at The Open, most recently in 2019, but he is yet to contest the Major Championship over the world-renowned Southport links.
Across 16 Regional Qualifying venues, 2,057 players competed with the aim of making it to Final Qualifying, where places to compete for the coveted Claret Jug will be up for grabs.
Craig Howie, who played on the DP World Tour, topped the qualifiers at Craigielaw as the Scot carded a course-record ten-under-par 61 on a day of low scoring at the links layout on the East Lothian coastline.
At Hesketh, a neighbouring course to Royal Birkdale, George Bryan - one half of popular content creators the Bryan Bros alongside younger sibling Wesley - shot a three-under 68 to finish tied top of their standings.
Mike Toorop of the Netherlands, a DP World Tour member this season after coming through Qualifying School last year, neared his first start at a Major as he was among the qualifiers at Moor Park.
Final Qualifying will take place at Burnham & Berrow, Dundonald Links, Royal Cinque Ports and West Lancashire on June 30, with this summer's Open Championship running from July 16-19.
