Tommy Fleetwood is set to bring further star power to the FedEx Open de France, with the Englishman confirmed to play Continental Europe’s oldest national open this autumn.
The World Number Seven will join a global field including Ryder Cup teammate Viktor Hovland at Le Golf National from September 24-27, returning to a course he has enjoyed much success at over his storied career.
The former Race to Dubai winner claimed his fourth DP World Tour title, and first Rolex Series win, at the 2017 edition of France’s national event, before making his Ryder Cup debut for Team Europe on the same French fairways the following year.
Fleetwood then added some Olympic flair to his name, taking home the silver medal in the men’s individual stroke play at the iconic venue on the outskirts of Paris in 2024.
The reigning FedExCup Champion, who enjoyed a stellar end to the 2025 season in which he lifted the Ryder Cup trophy for a third time, claimed his eighth title on golf’s Global Tour and secured a breakthrough win on the PGA TOUR, will be hoping to create some more magic at his first Open de France since 2018.
“I have some incredibly special memories playing in France, and Le Golf National is a course I hold really close to my heart,” said Fleetwood.
“The FedEx Open de France is one of the world’s oldest national opens, and it’s always a privilege to tee it up in an event with such history. I look forward to getting back in front of the French fans and hopefully making it another week to remember.”
The FedEx Open de France, which returns to Le Golf National following renovation in 2025, was first played in 1906 and became part of the DP World Tour in 1972. Some of golf’s most recognisable names, including Peter Oosterhuis, Seve Ballesteros, Bernard Gallacher, Sandy Lyle, Sir Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Sam Torrance and Colin Montgomerie, are among its winners.
