What's in the bag: Adrian Meronk comes full circle as trusty irons help him to victory in Scotland

An awful lot has happened since Adrian Meronk made his professional debut on the DP World Tour at the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Donald Trump has won the US presidency, lost it and won it again, there has been a global pandemic and the United Kingdom has had six prime ministers.

In the world of golf, a dominant force has arrived in the shape of Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy has completed the career Grand Slam and Europe have won three Ryder Cups to the United States' one.

And during all that time, Meronk has been playing with the same blade irons.

When a 23-year-old Meronk stood on the tenth tee of the Old Course a decade ago to begin his adventure in the paid ranks, he had in his bag a set of Ping I Blades.

125 starts, five wins and a string of firsts for Poland later, they are still there and last week helped him to a +0.75 in Strokes Gained Approach as he lifted the trophy at St Andrews.

It is not only in the middle of the bag that Meronk is loyal to his equiment. He has had the same Ping Vault 2.0 Ketsch putter since the 2019 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.

Some changes have been made, the most recent being the addition of a Ping Prototype mini driver at the Husqvarna British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo.

His driver has also had a change, with a Ping G440 Max coming in to replace his Titleist GT2 at the Soudal Open.
