As with many European Tour victories, driving consistency was key for Fabrizio Zanotti as he claimed his second European Tour title in the Maybank Championship in Malaysia. Using his TaylorMade M1 440 (17°), he hit 69.6 per cent of fairways. with an average driving distance of 292.5 yards.
The Paraguayan hit 73.2 per cent of greens hit in regulation Zanotti stood out in this field, giving himself the best possible chance at scoring well. Another highlight was his outstanding sand play, successfully getting up-and-down from six out of six bunker shots attempted.
With a fantastic eagle putt to seal his victory it was clear putting was a strong point for Zanotti this week. Averaging 28.5 putts per round with his Titleist SC T5S he placed within the Top 20 in the field in this metric.
