Which players have won the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year award?

The Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year award is presented annually to the most promising newcomer to the DP World Tour.

Inaugurated in 1960 and named after the three-time Open Champion, the prestigious award predates the formation of the DP World Tour in 1972.

This year, the 62nd occassion in which an award winner has been determined, Martin Couvra became the second Frenchman to claim the honour after Olivier Edmond in 1998.

In recent years, Jon Rahm and Robert MacIntyre - both future Ryder Cup players - have won the award, which goes to the highest-ranked player deemed eligible on the Race to Dubai.

Among other stars of European golf over recent decades to have won the distinction are Tony Jacklin, Sir Nick Faldo, José María Olazábal, Colin Montgomerie, Thomas Björn and Ian Poulter.
