Wiesberger makes early third round move

Bernd Wiesberger scored a seven under par 65 in the South African Open Championship third round to set the clubhouse target at ten under at Pearl Valley Golf Estates.

The Austrian - who is on The European Tour International Schedule 2009 after finishing tenth at Qualifying School - carded six birdies, a bogey and an eagle three at the third to leap from a tie for 44th overnight into a tie for fifth.

Halfway leader Michael Lorenzo-Vera was still out in front at 12 under having played just one hole, but his lead had been halved.

South African George Coetzee - one of many players looking to make it an eighth successive home winner of the tournament - was at 11 under after picking up four shots in his first six holes.

Northern Ireland`s Michael Hoey had joined him on 11 under after five, along with World Number Ten Lee Westwood, who birdied the first.

First round leader Fabrizio Zanotti of Paraguay was alongside Wiesberger at ten under having played six holes.

Ernie Els - who won here two years ago and has claimed the title on no fewer than four occasions - slipped from a tie for second overnight with a double bogey six at the opening hole.
