Chris Wood has earned playing status on the HotelPlanner Tour for the remainder of 2026 after winning the MENA Golf Tour Rankings.
The Englishman won three times in eight events, amassing 59,320 points to secure top spot in dominant fashion, with Spaniard Juan Salama in second on 33,050 points and Frenchman Pierre Pineau completing the top three on 31,531 points.
As winner of the MENA Golf Tour Rankings, Wood is added to Category 12b and earns playing privileges on the HotelPlanner Tour for the remainder of the 2026 season.
Wood, who teed it up as part of the European Team in the 2016 Ryder Cup, and who has three DP World Tour victories to his name including the 2016 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, is looking ahead to the future after returning to form in 2026.
"I'm very proud to have won the Order of Merit,” he said. “There are some impressive players on the MENA Golf Tour, which shows the depth of golf worldwide nowadays – I was pushed all the way to my three victories, which is great for me to have those pressure situations.
“Each win offered me something different, and to win in three different countries is something I'm very proud of.
“The MENA Golf Tour has offered me a realistic route back to where I want to be playing, and I can't wait to get going."
Having secured his MENA Golf Tour card by winning Q-School in Portugal by six shots, Wood claimed victory in each of the three countries the MENA Golf Tour visited this season – the Rolear Algarve Classic in Portugal, the Address Marassi Resort event in Egypt, and the Al Houara Classic in Morocco – before sealing the Rankings title by a commanding margin.
Wood’s first eligible event on the 2026 Road to Mallorca will be the Italian Challenge Open which takes place from May 7-10.
