The Closing Swing gets under way with the second Rolex Series event of the season at the Genesis Scottish Open.
A stellar field has assembled at the Renaissance Club for the fourth edition of Scotland's national open to be co-sanctioned by the PGA TOUR.
World Number One Scottie Scheffler will lead the charge from across the Atlantic but a host of DP World Tour stars will also be well fancied, not least World Number Two and Masters champion Rory McIlroy.
Xander Schauffele - winner in 2022 - and JJ Spaun also tee it up meaning all four reigning Major champions are in the field ahead of next week's Open Championship.
Reigning champion and local hero Robert MacIntyre will defend his title with vital points available for the Race to Dubai, Ryder Cup and Closing Swing.
The winner of the Swing, which ends at the Danish Golf Championship, will earn a place in every event of Phase two of the season - the Back 9 - and a US$200,000 bonus. A spot into the BMW PGA Championship is also at play for the best performing DP World Tour member not otherwise exempt. From insight into the week’s most-picked players among Fantasy managers, to our ones to watch, we run the rule ahead of Thursday’s deadline to pick your team.
Who are the most backed players?
MacIntyre is our most picked player so far by some distance, with the defending champion featuring in 78% of selections.
There is a strong Team Europe theme with all of our top five having featured in Luke Donald's team in Rome with MacIntyre followed by Tommy Fleetwood (58%), Viktor Hovland (54%), McIlroy (45%) and Ludvig Åberg (38%).
Who are our ones to watch?
Here, we pick out three players in action this week who are worth considering for your Fantasy team selections.
Favourite - Scottie Scheffler
The bookmakers' favourite and for good reason, what more can we say about the imperious World Number One? He claimed his third Major title at the US PGA Championship in May, one of three victories in a 2025 that has seen him finish in the top ten 11 times in 14 starts with no missed cuts. The American has been on top of the world since May 2023 - the year he finished third here at Renaissance - and it is not a position he looks likely to give up anytime soon. Top of the FedEx Cup standings and having qualified for the Ryder Cup with months to spare, the list of Scottie's achievements can go on and on.
Form Horse - Kristoffer Reitan
The Norwegian arrives at the Renaissance Club on a remarkable run that has seen him rise to fifth on the Race to Dubai Rankings and win the European Swing in the process. He has not missed a cut since Singapore, a run of nine events which has included his maiden DP World Tour victory at the Soudal Open and two runner-up finishes. He is making just his second Rolex Series appearance after this event in 2019 but will be full of confidence and in good company as he plans to play a practice round with friend and countryman Viktor Hovland.
Wild Card - Romain Langasque
The Frenchman may have missed his last two cuts but this week is a very different challenge and one to which he has risen before. The Amateur Champion of 2015, Langasque has proven he can handle the unique challenge of the coast of the British Isles and has sepcifically proven it at Renaissance, with third-place finishes last season and in 2019. He finished second in good company at the Nedbank Golf Challenge and is a proven winner on both the DP World Tour and HotelPlanner Tour. A win here would be a big step up for the World Number 145 but he may just be ready to take it.
