Robert MacIntyre will get his title defence at the Genesis Scottish Open under way in the company of World Number One Scottie Scheffler on Thursday.

The in-form Scot is joined by American three-time Major winner Scheffler and Australia’s Adam Scott, who he edged out by one shot to win his national Open and become a Rolex Series winner just a year after being pipped in dramatic fashion by Rory McIlroy.

They will begin their challenge at 08:28 local time off the tenth tee at the Renaissance Club, with two-time Major winner Collin Morikawa, European Ryder Cup star Ludvig Åberg and France’s in-form rising star Martin Couvra in the group after at 08:39.

Rory McIlroy, champion in 2023, is grouped with 2022 winner Xander Schauffele as the World Numbers Two and Three play alongside Norway’s Viktor Hovland, starting off the first at 13:45 local time.

Off the same hole, 11 minutes later, Tommy Fleetwood makes his first start since his near-miss at the Travelers Championship, with the Englishman alongside U.S. Open winner JJ Spaun and Scotland’s newest DP World Tour winner Connor Syme.

With a field full of international talent assembled at the co-sanctioned DP World Tour and PGA TOUR event, there are a host of eye-catching groupings.

Among those include Austria’s Sepp Straka, who has won twice this season on the PGA TOUR, playing alongside Major winner Justin Thomas and England’s Laurie Canter. That trio are part of the morning wave on Thursday, teeing it up at 08:09 off the tenth.

Europe’s Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald will play alongside England’s Harry Hall and Denmark’s Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen, who has impressed in his rookie season on the DP World Tour.
