Saturday and Sunday of the Rolex Series tournament were sold-out for the first time as a stellar field competed in East Lothian, with the elevated Ticket+ option selling out in advance for each day of the event.

Tickets for the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open are now on pre-sale to previous purchasers, with the general sale set to begin on August 11.

As well as welcoming eight of the top ten players in the world to Renaissance Club last week, the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR co-sanctioned event featured an expanded fan experience programme, including the Fringe by the Tee stage – with a Saturday headline slot by KT Tunstall – and the Sixth Hole Stadium Experience.

The crowd of 88,735 at the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open bettered not only the previous high of 76,024 at Renaissance Club last year, but also the largest recorded crowd for the event of 85,921 at Loch Lomond in 2009.

Sunday attracted the highest crowd of the week, as 22,728 fans watched a new star emerge in American Chris Gotterup, who held off career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy to take the title.

Rory Colville, Genesis Scottish Open Championship Director, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled by the response to this year’s Genesis Scottish Open. The tournament has grown year on year here at Renaissance Club, and with the support of Genesis.

“This year’s event had the fourth-strongest field in world golf – behind only the U.S. Open, US PGA Championship and THE PLAYERS - but not only that, we feel we had a really exciting fan experience outside the ropes, with the event establishing itself as a great day out for all the family.”

The Genesis Scottish Open is co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR, counting on both the Race to Dubai Rankings and the FedExCup, and boasts Genesis, the luxury automotive brand from South Korea, as title sponsor. Genesis title-sponsor the Genesis Championship on the Race to Dubai and two tournaments on the PGA TOUR’s 2025 schedule, with the Genesis Scottish Open following The Genesis Invitational in February, won by European Ryder Cup star Ludvig Åberg.

The event benefits from the continued commitment of the Scottish Government and VisitScotland, and retains its place in golf’s global calendar the week ahead of The Open as part of these agreements through 2025.
