The Genesis Scottish Open didn't just have a big impact inside the ropes, but also off the course with a number of community and charity initiatives throughout the week, including clinics and lessons onsite for both able bodied and disabled children from the local community, as well as careers in golf initiatives.
Tournament catering supplier, Heritage Portfolio, not only sourced food locally, donated leftovers to foodbanks and recruited locally, but also partnered with Social Bite, a charity and social business whose Job First programme focuses on providing job opportunities to people who have experienced homelessness.
Two beneficiaries of the scheme, Yusuf and Shirsai, worked in the Genesis Player Cafe for the week, meeting some of the best players in the world and playing an integral role in the Genesis Scottish Open community.
