Boneta and List lead way in Czechia

Albert Boneta and Danny List share a two-stroke lead heading into the final round of the D+D REAL Czech Challenge at Royal Beroun Golf Club.

Spaniard Boneta signed for a three under par round of 67 to reach 17 under par for the week, whilst Australian List carded a third round 66 to join the 23-year-old at the top of the leaderboard.

Boneta, who started the day one shot clear, fired three front nine birdies to set the early pace but ran into trouble on the difficult par four 12th, resulting in a double bogey.

The Spaniard responded immediately with a birdie on 13 before picking up two more shots on 15 and 16. After closing out with back-to-back pars, the 23-year-old was pleased with his third round effort in the testing conditions at Royal Beroun.

“I played well, and the score doesn’t really reflect how good it was today,” he said.

“The conditions were tough during the last five holes, so I am happy with the round overall. There were a few mistakes but that’s part of the game.

“It’s important to respond after a bogey or a double and I did that well today; it breeds confidence and gets you on the right mindset.

“It’s really important that I perform well on the HotelPlanner Tour and a win this week will move me up spots, which could be important at the end of the season.”

List, who began moving day one shot back of Boneta, picked up two birdies on the front nine before moving to three under par for the day on the drivable par-four tenth.

The 27-year-old dropped his first shot on 11 but produced a flurry of late birdies, including on the par-five 18th to move into a share of the lead.

“It was a battle out there today and it was good to grind it out,” he said.

“Today was more challenging than the first two days with there being a few tough pins and there was a really hard one on 12.

“It’s hard to adjust when the rain comes down like that and I need to shout out my caddie for keeping everything dry.

“I am looking forward to tomorrow, I am going to go for it and see how things shape out.”

Scottish duo David Law and Ryan Lumsden Norwegian Baard Skogen and Italian Luca Cianchetti are two shots back on 15 under par.

Denmark’s Victor Sidal Svendsen, American Nick Carlson, Scot Euan Walker, Italian Renato Paratore and England’s Jack Floydd sit one shot further back on 14 under par.

The final round of the D+D REAL Czech Challenge gets underway at 8:39am local time with Boneta and List teeing off alongside Law at 10:40am.
