Knut Borsheim will head to his homeland in high spirits after a strong run of form ahead of the Norwegian Challenge at Losby G&CC.
Borsheim finished in a tie for second at the Mugello Tuscany Open where he was pipped by a single stroke by Italy's Marco Crespi on the final day, having led the tournament after 54 holes.
The Norwegian also posted another top three finish just seven days prior, when he shared third place at the Bad Griesbach Challenge Tour by Hartl Resort thanks to three sub 70 scores in the heart of Bavaria.
Borsheim therefore heads home to Norway feeling good about his game, and to a golf course that is only a short distance from his home.
"I've been playing well lately, and my game has been improving over the past couple of months, so if I can get that going into Norway then it would be fun to get into contention there. Hopefully there will be plenty of Norwegians out there supporting us.
"I played the course a long time ago, even though it is only 20 minutes from where I live. It is a parkland course, with a mix of a few different styles, but it is a good test and probably the best we have had so far in Norway on the Challenge Tour.
"It is probably in the top five in the country, so hopefully the condition will be good. They have a good green staff up there.
"You have to hit the ball well, it is quite long, so some good drives will leave some mid irons and wedges into the greens. The scoring probably wont be too low there, around 15 under, so I think it should fit my game well."
Borsheim is helping to blaze a trail for Norwegian golf alongside the likes of Espen Kofstad, who topped the Challenge Tour Rankings in 2012 thanks to two tournament titles and a whole host of strong displays last season.
A European Tour card is on offer to those who finish in the top 15 on the Rankings this season, and Borsheim will be hoping to climb into contention for those spots with the help of a maiden title at home in Norway.
"It would be really nice to get my first victory in Norway, obviously, so hopefully I can get myself into contention again, and give myself a shot at winning. I would be really pleased with that.
"I came really close in Tuscany, and you just have to keep putting yourself in that position, and I will win eventually, I hope.
"Top ten on the rankings is my goal, there are some big tournaments coming up now, and I'm playing a few weeks in a row so it is a big few weeks."
"I hope golf in Norway is on the up, and there should be some people out there watching. When we play on tour there are a lot of people following us on Twitter and Facebook so if the weather is good some people will find their way out to watch us I'm sure."
Borsheim will be part of another strong field assembled in Norway as part of a Scandinavian double bill that will begin with the Finnish Challenge seven days prior.
He will tee it up at home alongside European Tour winners Markus Brier and Rhys Davies, who are both set to play, as is former Ryder Cup star Oliver Wilson.
They will be joined by François Calmels, who has won twice on the Challenge Tour so far in 2013. While fellow tournament winners Marco Crespi, Dylan Frittelli, Jordi Garcia-Pinto, Andrea Pavan and Victor Riu will all be in attendance after their own successes so far this season.
