The Raiffeisenbank Golf Challenge returns for a fifth consecutive year at Golf Resort Kaskáda in Brno, Czech Republic, from June 12-15. Here is all you need to know ahead of Thursday’s first tee…
Golf Resort Kaskáda
Golf Resort Kaskáda, located in the South Moravian region of the country, will this year play host for a fifth time on the Road to Mallorca, having made its HotelPlanner Tour debut back in 2021.
The championship-style layout is made up of three nine-hole courses, with the ‘Wooden’ and ‘Stone’ combining to form the track for the Raiffeisenbank Golf Challenge. Accuracy will be rewarded in the 13th HotelPlanner Tour event of 2025 too, with thick rough primed to punish those who fail to hit the narrow fairways. The course will also look slightly different this year, with 30 bunkers removed and new tees in play on holes 16 and 17.
Fresh look
Having previously been named the Prague Golf Challenge and Kaskáda Golf Challenge, the first of two events in the Czechia will this year have a fresh look. Raiffeisenbank’s title partnership means the tournament will be known as Raiffeisenbank Golf Challenge for the first time.
Taking inspiration from the DP World Tour’s Czech Masters, this year’s event will include an expanded Pro-Am, an added social section and Porsche test drives during Tuesday afternoon. Jamie Donaldson, the man who secured the winning point for Europe in the 2014 Ryder Cup, is also an ambassador.
Czech talent
Jiří Zuska is the highest ranked Czech golfer on the Road to Mallorca Rankings teeing it up this week. The 26-year-old will make his ninth HotelPlanner Tour start of 2025 in Kaskáda and boasted a season-high finish at the Challenge de España after ending the week in a tie for eighth.
Filip Mruzek is another local name to watch out for after he finished inside the top 15 at the Danish Golf Challenge, his first of two HotelPlanner Tour outings this year.
Previous winners
Winning at Golf Resort Kaskáda has proven to be a positive omen over the years, with the four previous victors all securing promotion to Golf’s Global Tour. Denmark’s Hamish Brown produced a flurry of birdies to capture the title 12 months ago, and in 2023, Italian Lorenzo Scalise secured a three-shot victory before eventually finished the year sixth on the Road to Mallorca.
With that in mind, whoever comes out on top this week should feel confident about ending the year inside the top 20 in the Rankings.
