Sam Torrance darted up the leaderboard at the Casa Serena Open midway through his final round as he carded six birdies in a stunning front nine to pile the pressure on leader Barry Lane and second placed Roger Chapman.
The Scotsman entered the final day nine shots off the lead set by Lane, who broke the course record with an incredible nine under par 62 to finish the second round on 13 under at Casa Serena Golf in the Czech Republic.
But Torrance gave himself every chance of overhauling that lead after an opening round 29 left him just four shots back as Lane also made a positive start to his final round.
The in-form Englishman extended his lead over Chapman to four shots as birdies at the first and third holes left him two under through six holes and 15 under for the tournament.
Chapman, meanwhile, enjoyed a steady start as he chases his first European Senior Tour title after a birdie on the second and five pars left him one under through six holes and 11 under for the tournament.
Gordon Manson was also having a positive final round and was four under for the day through nine holes following two consecutive opening birdies before picking up further shots at the fifth, seventh and ninth with just a single bogey at the eighth.
