All the travel and parking information you need when attending the Scottish Senior Open

Directions

Travelling south from Edinburgh:

  • Head south on the A1 city by pass follow signs for Berwick up on Tweed.
  • Look out for the Bankton Junction south of Musselburgh branching left off the A1. Then at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A198 (signposted North Berwick). At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit on to the A198 heading for North Berwick. After entering Longniddry on the A198 bear left following signs for Aberlady and Gullane on the A198. At the T-Junction turn right (still on the A198). And from this junction the Craigielaw entrance lies less than 2 miles on the left hand side (1/2 a mile before Aberlady village).

Distance and time:

  • Edinburgh city centre to Craigielaw is 18 miles/29 km and takes 40 minutes depending on traffic.

Travelling north from Newcastle:

  • Heading north on the A1 look for the Abbotsview Junction (signposted for Haddington) – take the exit. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit signposted Aberlady A6137. At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit on to the A6137 (signposted Aberlady). At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit, again signposted Aberlady. And less than 1 ½ mile you come to a 90 degree right hand bend – turn left here heading into the village of Aberlady. Follow the road until you get to a junction and the main street – turn left here and drive out of the village. Craigielaw is ½ mile out of the village – the entrance being the 3rd road on your right.

Distance and time:

  • Newcastle city centre to Craigielaw is 105 miles/170 km and takes 2 hours depending on traffic.
  • Glasgow to Craigielaw: 62 miles/100km and normally takes 1 hour and 10 minutes.
  • Manchester to Craigielaw: 230 miles/370 km and normally takes 4 hours.

Car Parks

Car parking is available for all members of the public. Please follow signs to Car Park 1 & 2. Charges apply (£5 per car all monies being donated to a local charity). Car park charges and tickets are non-refundable including in the event of curtailment or cancellation through adverse weather.

Ticket holders from the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open may park for free with proof of purchase/tickets from that event.

Disabled Parking

Designated parking bays are available outside the clubhouse in Car Park 1 for blue badge holders.
