    Turned pro in 1996 and played on the Challenge Tour in 1999, winning in the Ivory Coast before progressing to the European Tour via Qualifying School. He was victorious in Italy in his debut season, winning the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year in 2000.

    Since then, he has won a further 12 times on the European Tour – including two World Golf Championships events – amassed numerous Major Championship top tens (including a runner-up at the 2008 Open Championship) and been nicknamed Mr Ryder Cup for his fearsome performances in the biennial clash.

    Remains unbeaten in singles matches at The Ryder Cup after his six victory in the discipline in 2021. Has a record of six wins and one half.

    Took up the game at the age of four when dad, Terry, a single figure handicapper, gave him a cut-down three wood.

    Is renowned for having a passion for fashion and flair, and is a passionate Arsenal FC supporter.
