Adrian Meronk is hoping the confidence taken from his three wins last season can power him to a first Rolex Series triumph this weekend at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
The Pole already had one DP World Tour victory under his belt before wins at the ISPS HANDA Australian Open, DS Automobiles Italian Open and Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters helped him finish fourth on the 2023 Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex.
He arrived at Emirates Golf Club - where he finished fourth in 2022 - off the back of two top tens and has continued that form, with rounds of 68 and 66 leaving him three shots off the lead heading into the final two days.
And he is now hopeful that his experience of getting over the line will help claim his biggest win to date.
"The experience gives you a little more confidence that you've done it before, so you can do it again," he said.
"The key is just to stick to your plan for your game, trust your shots, full commitment.
"Don't get too ahead of yourself. I think that's the key. It's easy to say but I think you have to experience it first and then it gets easier but it's never easy. But at least I have some experience under my belt."
Meronk's remarkable 2023 season saw him given the Seve Ballesteros Award by his fellow DP World Tour members as Player of the Year, an honour with which he was presented this week.
The 30-year-old admits he was surprised to be named the recipient but that it has given him another boost in the desert.
"I wasn't expecting that award, to be honest," he said. "When I got it, I was super surprised.
"It's a great feeling to be awarded by the players. It's special and I'm thankful to every player who voted for me."
