Anne-Marie fans arrive before daylight for Wentworth show

A group of Anne-Marie fans arrived before the morning had even broken, to make sure they were on the front row when their favourite artist performs on the Slingsby Showstage at the BMW PGA Championship.

The show begins at 6pm in the spectator village at the fourth Rolex Series event of the season, but that didn’t stop the group of 14 arriving some 14 hours before the British singer is set to perform.

One of the group even travelled all the way from Liverpool to the Surrey venue, in the early hours of the morning.

Despite the pouring rain the group have set up shop at the very front of stage, hoping to get a glimpse of their favourite artist.

“The first few of us got here at 4am and set up outside to wait to get into the golf course and get to the front row,” said Yasmin Hamidi.

“We all love Anne-Marie, she's lovely. Why would you not love Anne-Marie?”

And it was Yasmin who Anne-Marie was first to help when her car broke down on the M25 just a few weeks ago.

After sending a tweet to the British artist, who has had a top-10 hit with her single “Ciao Adios” and “2002” as well as a Christmas number one as the main vocalist on Clean Bandit’s “Rockabye”, she made Yasmin a generous offer.

“She sent me £100 the other day because I broke down on the M25 and I had to get towed back to the garage,” she added.

“I sent her a tweet and she replied and sent me £100 to help me out.

“She is the most down to earth human being, she's great.”

This won’t be the first time the group have seen the chart-topper, too, but arguably will be the most unique venue to see the 28-year-old.

“We've all seen her several times! Some of us went to Madrid last week to see her.

“It's pretty cool to see her at a golf course, it's different, although I think we'll be sat here for most of the day. We can't wait to hear Bad Girlfriend live, again.”
