General

The Tournament is played over a composite course of the Red & Blue courses at St. Nom La Breteche. Over the last 6 years 8 of the greens have been re-laid. The new greens (5,6,7,10,13,14,16&17) are a USGA Spec with a sand base and a high %age of bent grass. The old greens (1,2,3,4,9,11,12,15&18) have a clay base and a high %age of Poa (meadow grass) and a low %age of Bent grass.

Grasses

Tees & Fairways: Annual Meadow & Bent grasses

Greens: Bent (New) and POA (Old)

Rough: Rye grass mixed with other species

Fairways

Quite wide fairways but tree lined. The fairways are cut to 11mm.

Rough

Extremely high temperatures & no rain through the summer means that the rough is patchy in areas not covered by irrigation. Secondary rough was topped at the beginning of the week.

Greens

Greens cut at 3.0mm with the exception of greens 8&15 that due to severe slopes are cut once a day at 3.25mm. Target stimpmeter reading is 11.0

Course

The course is playing shortish due to dry fairways and good run on the ball. The weather forecast for the week is good.
