Special Features – Classic natural course.

General Playability – Greens are very tough. Must find fairway for control of shots into green. Must put ball in the right part of the green.

Undulating/Flat – Undulating

Treelined/exposed – Tree lined but wind is a major factor

Many / few water hazards - No hazards

Changes to the Course – 10th hole is par 4 this year. 17th hole is now out of bounds when playing 18.

Greens

Type of grass - Bent grass ‘ Suttons mix’

Height of cut - 2mm

Speed/stimp reading - Will be fast approx 12.5 on the stimp.

Any specific comments - Greens are the main defence of the course. Fast and very subtle breaks. If you are above the hole on some greens you have no chance of getting it close to the hole.

Fairways

Type of grass – Mix of cooch and Wintergrass Bermuda

Height of cut – 11mm

General width and contouring - Relatively generous and fast running.

Tees/Collars

Type of grass – Mix of cooch and Wintergrass Bermuda

Height of cut - 5.5mm

Rough

Type of grass – Mix of natural heathland grasses

Semi-rough - Height of cut – 30mm

Intermediate – Height of cut – No intermediate

Rough - Height of cut – 75mm

Special Features - Not very consistent , hot weather has burnt a lot of it away

This is a composite course of the East course (6 holes) and the West course (12 holes)

Weather in advance - Hot sunny .

Forecast for tournament - Cool, showers, windy for Wed –Fri (18 degrees). Mild and warm for the weekend, lighter winds (25 degrees)
