This is the shortest time span from a player winning a European Tour title then defending it, in European Tour history - a gap of 137 days, dating back from 27th November 2005 to 13th April 2006.
• Jeev Milkha Singh created history in 2006 by becoming the first player to win the Volvo China Open and Volvo Masters in the same season. This enabled him be the first Indian to record multiple European Tour victories in the same season
• In the 12 stagings of the Volvo China Open, there have been 12 different winners, from nine different countries. England have the most wins with three – Ed Fryatt (1998), Simon Dyson (2000) and Casey (Nov 2005 – part of the 2006 European Tour season).
