• Aged 42 and 202 days in 2006, Cesar Monasterio became the oldest first-time winner in European Tour history when he triumphed in this event 12 months ago.

• There are 20 French players in the field this week. One of the 20 is Marc Farry, winner of the 1996 BMW International Open, holds the record for most European Tour events played by a Frenchman. Prior to this week he has participated in 474 tournaments, dating back to 1979.

• Since 2003 when the event became part of The European Tour, Brett Rumford (2003), José-Filipe Lima (2004), Joakim Bäckström (2005) and Monasterio (2006), all made this event their first European Tour victories.

• As the event holds dual-ranked status,  the field is split between European and Challenge Tour players. Dating back to 1991, there have been a total of 173 European Tour wins by 84 different former Challenge Tour Members.
