• The Joburg Open, is the third event of the 2007 European Tour International Schedule to be co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour. This equals the most official events jointly sanctioned by both Tours, following 1996 (Alfred Dunhill Championship, Dimension Data Pro-Am and FNB Players Championship) In 1997 the events were: the South African Open, dunhill championship and Dimension Data Pro-Am.
• The Royal Johannesburg’s East Course is no stranger to holding big events. The course has staged the South African Open on seven occasions, the last of which was in 1986, won by David Frost, who is in the field for the Joburg Open.
• Frost is joined by 15 other players who have won on The European Tour International Schedule.
