Drysdale leads tightly-packed field

Scotland’s David Drysdale was in possession of a slender one shot advantage midway through the final round of the Avantha Masters in New Delhi.

Drysdale played his first 11 holes in a bogey-free three under par to reach 13 under for the tournament at DLF Golf and Country Club.

The 34 year old is looking for his maiden European Tour win and has twice endured the agony of losing his card by one position on The Order of Merit.

A shot off the pace are English pair Richard Finch and Richard Bland, Australian Andrew Dodt, Japan’s Tetsuji Hiratsuka and home favourite Rahil Gangjee.

But no fewer than 20 players were within four shots of Drysdale’s lead and the congested leaderboard looks set to provide an exciting finish.
