The field for the event will be approximately 60-65 players comprising:
(a) The top 50 available players from the official World Golf Ranking as of Monday 9th September 2002.
(In the event of a tie for 50th position the tie would be broken by the following criteria in order:
(i) Total World Ranking Points earned in the 52 week period leading up to Monday 9th September 2002.
(ii) Position of tied players on 2001 World Money list as of Monday 9th September 2002.
(b) Any remaining available players ranked within the Top 30 only of the 2002 PGA Tour Official Money list as of Monday 9th September 2002.
(c) Any remaining available players ranked within the top 20 only of the 2002 Volvo Order of Merit, as of Monday 16th September 2002.
(d) Any remaining available players ranked within the top 3 only from the 2002 Australasian Tour Order of Merit, as of March 18th 2002.
(e) Any remaining available players ranked within the top 3 only from the Final 2001-2002 Southern Africa Tour Order of Merit.
(f) Any remaining available players ranked within the top 3 only from the PGA Tour of Japan 2002 Order of Merit as of Monday 9th September 2002.
(g) The leading Money Winner only from the Final Asian PGA Tour 2001 Order of Merit.
