INTERESTING FACTS

South African Retief Goosen produced one of the rounds of the year in round three in 2002. Leading by one shot at halfway, the 2001 US Open Champion shot a course record 63 (-9) to lead by 13 shots after day three, in so doing creating European Tour history for the biggest 54 hole lead. He eventually won by eight and provided the starting point from where Retief would go on to retain the Volvo Order of Merit he won in 2001.
