Faldo, Woosnam and Scott join the Field

Nick Faldo (England), Adam Scott (Australia), and Ian Woosnam (Wales) have been added to the field to this year’s Cisco World Match Play Championship. This leaves one space still to be filled and the final player will be announced later in the week.

The inclusion of Faldo and Woosnam, champions in 1989 and 1992 and 1987 and 1990 respectively, means there will be five past champions in the field including Lee Westwood, the current holder of the title.

Other players previously announced were Colin Montgomerie, winner of the Championship in 1999 and losing finalist last year; US Open Champion Retief Goosen from South Africa, currently leading the Volvo Order of Merit; plus other top European Tour players Darren Clarke, Thomas Björn and Padraig Harrington. Also in the line-up are World Number Five Vijay Singh, currently third on the US PGA Tour money list, and Mike Weir, the Canadian left-hander who won the 2000 WGC American Express Championship.
