Valerie Fourneyron, France’s Minister of Sport and Youth, joined Jean-Lou Charon, President of the French Golf Federation, Pascal Grizot, Chairman of the Ryder Cup 2018 Committee, and George O’Grady, Chief Executive of The European Tour, for the final day of the Alstom Open de France on Sunday.
The Minister walked the final round at Le Golf National, joining thousands of passionate Parisian spectators at the host venue for the 2018 Ryder Cup to witness Graeme McDowell’s magnificent victory.
The Ministerial visit came at the end of a tremendous week for the Alstom Open de France which also saw the French Golf Federation take golf into the heart of Paris with “le swingue au Troca”.
The festival, under the shadow of one of Europe’s most iconic landmarks, the Eiffel Tower, was aimed at raising awareness of France’s successful bid to host The 2018 Ryder Cup.
Friday’s Opening Ceremony took place around the Trocadéro Fountains below the Eiffel Tower, showcasing the first real public engagement exercise since France’s won the bid to host The 2018 Ryder Cup.
