Defending champion Sergio Garcia remained a shot behind leaders Martin Kaymer and Robert Allenby after the completion of the second round at the CASTELLÓ MASTERS Costa Azahar in Spain.
Garcia had three holes to play when play was called off because of fading light last night and, on the resumption bogeyed the short 16th, but birdied the next and parred the last.
It gave the tournament host - this is his home course - a three under par 68 and an 11 under aggregate of 131, while playing partner José Maria Olazábal's 67 put him joint fourth at halfway with Swede Michael Jonzon and Indian Shiv Kapur.
Jonzon and Kapur are both trying to save their European Tour cards. They lie 158th and 117th on The Race to Dubai respectively, with only the top 115 automatically retaining membership for next season.
"I bogeyed the 16th, it's not an easy hole,” said Garcia. “I missed my seven iron and left myself with a difficult shot. The good news is that I birdied the 17th.”
