Simon Thornton fired seven birdies against a single bogey on his way to a third round 65. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 37 year old Welsh golfer (who celebrates his 38th birthday next week) is driving the ball long and hitting almost 80% of the Greens in Regulation, plus his touch on and around the greens is sharp (Jamie also leads the Par 3 Scoring with a 2.67 average).

Over the 18 holes, the 29 year old Scottish golfer actually hit only 6/14 fairways and 13/18 Greens in Regulation, but he took just 20 putts for the day, launching him up into title contention.
