After a final round of intense drama played out over the West Course at Wentworth Club, Anders Hansen and Justin Rose finished tied at eight under par 280, prompting the first play-off in the BMW PGA Championship since 2003.
Vijay Singh’s final round of 66, equalling the best round of the week, left him one short of the play-off on seven under par 281 and tied third alongside Richard Sterne after the South African’s 74.
