Major Champions Ernie Els and José María Olazábal, 2018 Ryder Cup Captain Thomas Bjørn, and in-form Tommy Fleetwood and Bernd Wiesberger have confirmed their appearances at the 2017 BMW International Open.
The quintet will join Masters Tournament champion Sergio Garcia, home-favourite Martin Kaymer and defending champion Henrik Stenson at GC München Eichenried from June 21-25, as well as Spanish pair Rafa Cabrera Bello and Pablo Larrazábal.
Friedrich Edel, Head of Sport Marketing BMW Germany, said: "German golf fans can look forward to world-class sport at the 2017 BMW International Open. We are proud to be able to present the reigning champions of the two most prestigious Majors, in Sergio Garcia and Henrik Stenson, as well as Germany's top golfer, Martin Kaymer.
"The whole field is brimming with quality. Together with the elite of the German golf scene, the addition of Thomas Bjørn, Ernie Els, Tommy Fleetwood, José María Olazábal and Bernd Wiesberger ensures there is an attractive mix of legends and rising stars.
When the tournament celebrated its 25th anniversary four years ago, Bjørn and Els were embroiled in a captivating duel in the final round, at the end of which the four-time Major winner from South Africa emerged triumphant, celebrating his first win at a BMW tournament.
Bjørn narrowly missed out on his third victory at the BMW International Open, having previously won in 2000 and 2002. In his pursuit of a hatrick he is joined by Larrazábal, winner in 2011 and 2013, and Stenson, who celebrated his second victory last year, ten years after winning his first BMW International Open title in 2006.
Olazábal also made tournament history when he hit the first albatross ever witnessed at the tournament – and the first of his glittering career – on the 11thhole in 2001.
Both Fleetwood and Wiesberger have tasted victory in 2017, with Fleetwood finishing ahead of World Number One Dustin Johnson to win the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, and Wiesberger secured his fourth European Tour title in April, winning the Shenzhen International.
This year, the BMW International Open will again be supported by long-term main partners Emirates, Rolex and Süddeutsche Zeitung. Allianz, Bowers & Wilkins, Hilton, Julius Bär, Konica Minolta and SAP will also be involved as corporate partners.
In addition to the €2,000,000 prize fund, the first professional to hit a hole-in-one on the 17th hole will be rewarded with a BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Black Edition.
Admission is free from Wednesday to Friday, while children and under-15 year olds enter free on all days. Tickets for the weekend and the Fairway Club are availablehere.
